This vintage original Harris Lebus Three Drawer Chest has been lovingly restored and updated. Using premium quality Dulux Heritage Eggshell Paint, in a Waxed Khaki colour, this piece has been beautifully renovated.
 
The piece was completley cleaned and sanded back to remove the old, worn varnish.  Two coats of paint were applied, giving it a rich smooth finish to the main body and drawer fronts. To the detail areas, above and below the drawers, a paint wash was applied to help maintain the wood look but give it a tonal finish.
 
The drawers and runners, being a vintage piece, did stick quite badly and this was resolved by cleaning, sanding smooth and then applying a coat of natural bees wax to the drawer sides and wooden runner rails. The drawers now move much more freely.
 
The original vintage handles were removed, cleaned in a mix of boiling water and white wine vinegar, to remove the old dirt. They were then cleaned and polished using Brasso to get them back to their original best.
